Who Is We Lost The Map?
- We move through the world without a plan, guided by instinct, connecting through trust, and with a desire for adventure -
After a chance meeting in Vietnam in 2008, we (Ville from Finland and Kristen from Oregon) embarked on a life full of adventure. With little to no experience, we crewed on sailboats, hiked the Pacific Crest Trail for five months in 2011 (Mexico to Canada covering 2,655 miles), got married and then crossed the Americas by bicycle from 2016-18 (Prudhoe Bay, Alaska to Bahia Lapatia, Argentina spanning 18,215 miles).
Along our journey we became international speakers. We have spoken in auditoriums, classrooms, community centers and on cruises. Our diverse audiences are elementary students, college grads, business professionals, seniors and troubled youth. We have spoken at MIT, Oregon State and on Princess Cruises. We have been interviewed on podcasts (The Greatness Machine: The Real Darius, www.welostthemap.com/mediaConexion Abierta: Destino Turistico and Earthy4Life) and television (KGW8) and we have been featured in numerous magazines (Bend Magazine and Pique News Magazine) and newspapers (The Bend Bulletin and Etela-Suomen Sanomat). Our documentary shorts were in the Bend Bike Film Festival (Following My Wife and The Right Side of Normal) and our full featured documentary will be out next year.
A Little About Us
Scandinavian Wonder Kid
Moi! I am Ville from Finland. I was a professional soccer player in Finland and Algeria, until five knee surgeries moved me into a corporate financial job. On a backpacking trip through southeast Asia, I met the love of my life on a scuba diving boat and the rest is history.
